As Chief Marketing Officer for Bacardi in North America, Mauricio is responsible for regional brand strategies for the Bacardi portfolio of internationally recognized spirits and wines. The Bacardi family of brands includes the iconic labels of BACARDÍ® rum, GREY GOOSE® vodka, MARTINI® vermouth and Italian sparkling wines, DEWAR’S® blended Scotch whisky and BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® gin, among other leading and emerging brands.

He also has global responsibility for the BACARDÍ and GREY GOOSE brand portfolios including developing the global marketing strategies and leading the creation of promotional, creative and packaging assets, as well as directing the development of brand innovation and line extensions.

Since joining privately held Bacardi in 2013, Mauricio has held various marketing and commercial leadership roles including Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Latin America; Vice President of Global Commercial responsible for Customer Marketing, Commercial Development, Advocacy and International Customers; Global Category Vice President of Rums; and Global Customer Marketing Director.

Based in the world headquarters of family-owned Bacardi in Hamilton, Bermuda, Mauricio has a strong track record of driving integration from brand strategy to sales execution, gained during nearly 25 years in brand marketing and commercial functions, 15 of which have been in the alcohol beverage industry.

Before Bacardi, Mauricio held a variety of global and regional marketing roles at Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, SAB Miller and Brown-Forman. He holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico.
